Five rare horror stories

What are my favorite rare horror stories? Find out in my interview on Metastellar.

The season of fright is here! Bet you’re looking for some rare horror stories to sink your hungry teeth into, right? I recently had the opportunity to discuss “the five best horror stories you’ve never heard of” with Maria Korlov, editor and publisher of Metastellar. It was my first time to be interviewed as a horror writer, and I couldn’t have had a better time! Thank you, Maria. If you’ve never checked out Metastellar, it’s an online magazine that specializes in all kinds of speculative fiction from sci fi to horror. You’ll find hundreds of free stories to read, including lots of extra content like news, reviews, and essays on a full range of geek-worthy topics. Man oh man, was this topic a blast for me! I’ve been a horror fan as long as I can remember, and I’ve been honing my horror-writing abilities for over a decade. It’s safe to say I’ve probably got more insight into the genre than the average reader, especially when it comes to obscure horror stories. The stories I chose for this list all had a profound effect on me, from grisly death scenes to stories that create horror through their emotional impact. Admittedly, some of these might be familiar to hardcore horror fans. And that’s okay. What I’m trying to do here is introduce newer horror fans to more rare horror stories they might not normally come across. But trust me, however the frights manifest in these selections, one thing’s for sure—they all have impact.
